BETTY BROOKS Obituary
Mrs. Brooks was born on Sept. 9, 1935 in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late Charles and Rose Martin Coscia.
At the age of 18 she married Earl Brooks and they moved to Greenville, S.C. while her husband attended college. They moved to Princeton, N.J. for three years while he attended the seminary. After his ordination with the Presbyterian Church, they served in Muncy and Clearfield until moving to Kent County, Md. in 1989 to pastor the Chestertown Presbyterian Congregation.
Mrs. Brooks was a devoted Christian lady, always active with her husband's ministries. She was also a volunteer with hospice.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband, Earl Brooks; children, Michelle Henninger (Clay) of Shippensburg, and Michael Brooks (LuAnn) of Mechanicsburg; her sister, Patricia Landavere of Baltimore, Md.; three grandchildren, Kate Boyd (Brandon), Clay Austin Henninger and Tia Li Brooks; and a great granddaughter, Abigail Boyd.
A private graveside service will be held in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Baltimore, Md.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607

I just found out about Betty's passing into glory last night when I called their beautiful home to see when we could come visit and Shelly answered the phone. It has saddened me so much to think that I will never again get to work beside her in her kitchen and listen to her kind and caring wisdom. I only realize now how much I valued her amazing Christian hospitality. What a sanctuary from the world they created! I hope some day the Spirit will transform me to be like her! Praying for the family and especially my mentor Earl as he lives on this earth without his other half...... Until we see her again, may our Savior be praised!

Heaven just got another angel. Betty and Earl were a special couple who showed us true Christian life and inspired us to be better people. I have missed them terribly since they moved. But fortunate to have known them and to stay in touch.
