Barbara "Bobbie" Rowe April 3, 2024 JOHNSON CITY - Barbara "Bobbie" Rowe, 86, Johnson City went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 3, 2024. She was a lifelong native of Washington County and was a daughter of the late John Henry Barnett and Violet Mathes Barnett. Bobbie worked at Johnson City Memorial Hospital as a Nurses Aid for 30 years. She also worked for the Johnson City Medical Center in Decontamination for 6 years. After retirement she continued as a caregiver. Bobbie loved caring for people. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Bobbie loved the Lord and always enjoyed going to church. She attended Bread of Life Fellowship Church and By Faith Freewill Baptist Church. She loved shopping and spending time with friends and family. Bobbie was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Heaven has gained a precious angel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Rowe; two brothers, Earl Barnett and Lewis Troy Barnett and a step-sister, Patsy Peterson.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Clina Jack Rowe; her children, Jackie L. Tipton of Johnson City, Penny L. Miles and husband, Cleo of Florida, Dennis J. Rowe and wife, Debbie of Johnson City, Wanda M. Willens and husband, Bill of Johnson City and Angie G. Gunn of Johnson City; two sisters, Linda Harrell and husband, Danny and Nila Mathes and husband, Norman all of Johnson City; a step-brother, Gene Barnett of Piney Flats; a step-sister, Lisa Mitchell and husband, Chalk of Piney Flats; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Bobbie will be conducted at 6:00 PM Monday, April 8, 2024 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Rev. Randy English officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 PM in the Historical part of the cemetery.
The family would like to give special thanks to Joyce Bailey and Hedi Bennett for the wonderful care and love they provided Ms. Bobbie.
