Barbara L. Keyes is now in heaven with her savior Jesus Christ after a battle with Alzheimer's disease for many years. She was a good Christian woman that served in many ministries throughout her lifetime. She was loved dearly by many especially by her daughter Jan Knudson and her son-in-law Philip Knudson who were her full-time caregivers.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Edith Tallent, her loving husband Samuel Keyes, her brother Charles Tallent Jr. and his wife Lois Tallent, her sister Ruby Parsons, and her sister Opal Melton. She is survived by her daughter Jan Knudson, her son-in-law Philip Knudson, her brother Gene Tallent and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice workers for their outstanding care of Barbara. They were such a blessing to her and her family. A special thanks to Pastor Tommy Pierce of Towering Oaks Baptist and Pastor David Smith of Tusculum Baptist for their prayers and visits. And thanks to their church members for their constant prayers.
A memory service to honor Barbara's life will be held on Saturday September 23rd at 11 AM at Tusculum Baptist Church 775 Erwin Hwy in Greeneville, Tennessee 37745. Barbara will be missed beyond words by many especially by her daughter.
Memorial donations in Barbara's name may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201.
