JOHNSON CITY - Arlena Ray Renfro, 83, Johnson City, was welcomed into Jesus' loving arms, Saturday, May 10, 2025, at NHC HeathCare, Johnson City.

She was born in Westminster, Maryland and was the daughter of the late Garfield and Mary Whitson Ray.

Arlena was a graduate of Tipton Hill School where she loved playing basketball. She was a bank teller at Hamilton, Suntrust for many years. Arlena was a member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church. She loved everything about church and worship.

She enjoyed watching NASCAR, spending time outdoors in the mountains, and seeking out waterfalls. Arlena loved to travel, especially to the beach. More than anything, she cared deeply for her family and cherished the time she spent with them.

In addition to her parents, Arlena was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Dale Renfro.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori Riddle (Jeff); grandson, Brandon Riddle; granddaughter, Elizabeth Renfro; brother, James Calvin Ray; several cousins, a special aunt/sister, Shirley Hughes, and many church friends.

The funeral service for Arlena will be conducted Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. from the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City with Pastor Charles A. Biggs, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The graveside committal service will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Roselawn Memorial Park.

In-lieu-of flowers donations can be made to Oakland Avenue Baptist Church, 2823 E. Oakland Ave. Johnson City, TN 37601.

Lori... I just saw where your mom passed.... I´m so sorry. She was a great co worker and friend. We used to go to the park and eat lunch together when we worked on walnut. Arlena was a special lady. Nancy Shew

Lori, I am so sorry about the passing of your precious mother. I worked with your mom at SunTrust and loved her dearly. I thought of her often and wondered how she was doing. Lifting you and your family in prayer. May your memories hold her close! See you in heaven Arlena!
