Anna Louise Sams Renfro, who would have been 94 years old in September, went to be with her heavenly Father, as the angels happily looked on, Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Christian Assisted Living. She passed away quietly, with peace in her heart.

She was born in Elizabethton, Keenburg Community, but lived most of her life in Johnson City where she was in sales at London's, and a 20-year employee of Sears Roebuck in Johnson City. Anna was a long-standing member of First Freewill Baptist where she taught children's Sunday School and had children's choirs. She also attended Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Johnson City and was a very devoted Christian. Anna was a devoted wife, a loving Mother and a homemaker always offering any visitors something to eat.

She was the daughter of the late Lee Sams and Mattie Carr Sams, in addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Burdette Renfro of 32 years; daughter, Janet H. Carriger; step grandson Grant Thomas Renfro; twelve siblings, Stanley Lee Sams, Selma Grace Perry, Trula Fortner, Christine Leonard, Launa Merritt, Mitchell Sams, Floyd Sams, Herbert Sams, Goldie Marsh, Raymond Sams, Eugene Sams and Luda Mae Vandyke.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Rachel Carriger West, Rebecca Carriger, Monroe Carriger; son-in-law, David Carriger; two stepsons, Gregory A. Renfro, Jeffrey W. Renfro, whom she said she loved as if he was her own child; step grandchildren, Alex J, Christy R. and Jonathan E Renfro; step great grandchildren, Bracken and Addison Renfro.

A celebration of life service will be conducted Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00-7:30 p.m.

The graveside committal service will be held Monday, March 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
