Mr. Andrew Leon "L Dog" Stephens November 14, 1955 - July 24, 2024
Mr. Andrew Leon "L Dog" Stephens, 68, departed this life on July 24, 2024, at home surrounded by family. He was born on November 14, 1955 in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Leon attended North Junior High and graduated from Science Hill High School. He worked at Harris Tarkett, Mt. States Laundry, and, lastly, Ballad Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
Leon was a servant at Grace Temple Eternal Life Center. He was an avid sports fan, particularly fond of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Volunteers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Audrey Stephens; three brothers, Gary, Jackie, and Randy Stephens; sister, Veta Thompson; grandparents, Carrie Johnson Goines and Claude "Casey" Goines Sr.; grandparents, Joseph and Blaine Stephens; uncles, Bobby Goines and Claude Goines Jr.; and aunt, Shirley Goines.
To honor his memory, Leon leaves his beloved wife, Carol Turner Stephens; son, Isaiah (Haley) Stephens; daughter, Sanae (Kelvin) Scott; two grandchildren, Carolyna Rose Stephens and Kyasia Scott; three sisters, JoAnn Stephens Dockery of Flint, Michigan, Sandra Stephens, and Carolyn Fain; brother, Ronald Stephens; uncle, Paul Goines; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday August 2, 2024 at 1:00pm from Grace Temple Eternal Life Center. The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service.
