Alfonzov Arze Obituary

JOHNSON CITY - Alfonzo Silvestre Arze, 72, of Johnson City passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at his residence surrounded by those he loved.
He was born in Bolivia in 1952 to Blanca and Hugo Arze, and he was born a fighter as a preemie baby at 27 weeks. Al attended, The University of Oklahoma, and was an OB/GYN physician for SOFHA OB/GYN for 25 amazing years. His co-workers, patients, and everyone he met along the way have always meant so much to him. He was always known to talk to his patient for so long and truly cared for each one of them.
Al is remembered as a huge Oklahoma Sooners fan. No one had to guess who he rooted for. He loved spending all his free time with his kids and grandkids doing whatever they wanted. He always worked so hard to give his family everything he could.
The family is extremely thankful for the amazing people that have helped take care of Al these past couple years. They are particularly thankful for Dawn Story and Ashley Blevins as amazing caregivers.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Blanca and Hugo Arze; cousin, Kenneth Kouver.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Martha Arze; children, Elizabeth (Greg) Bird Arze, Steven (Amy) Arze, Ryan Arze, Kaitlin Arze, Caroline Arze, Chelsea (Taylor) Pruett, Emily Silver, Olivia Arze, Ava Arze; adored grandchildren, James, Arabella, Asher, Aidan, and Brooks; sister, Rita "Maria" Arze.
The funeral service for Al will be conducted Saturday, February 15, 2025, 6:00 p.m. from the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City with Taylor Pruett, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The graveside committal service will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025, 1:00 p.m. at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Homes and Memorial Park, 2630 TN-75, Blountville, TN 37617. Pallbearers will be Ryan Arze, Steven Arze, Greg Bird, Hudson Dietrich, Coty Malone, and Dr. Grover May. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 p.m.

Al and I were professional partners for a short time. He was always professional and kind with his patients and a pleasure to work with.He was well repected by his partners and professional colleges.I was gratful to to be his college and friend and I am sadden about his loss to our practice his family and the community.May he rest inpiece.

My heart breaks for Martha and their children! Dr.Arze was just a wonderful human being. Don and I will keep you in our prayers.i am in a wheel chair now with weak muscles. I wanted to come today but was sick, didn´t want to spread it. Ava was his first delivery in JC. God bless you all!
