Erlinda was born in Dalaguete, Philippines on July 8, 1942, to Timoteo and Felicidad Emutan. She moved to the United States in 1973 after marrying the love of her life, Floyd Nickel.
Erlinda was a dedicated, family-oriented housewife, mother, aunt, grandmother and a loyal and giving friend. Erlinda was known for her hard work around the home and her cooking. She, along with her husband, taught their children about work ethic, and stretching every dollar. And when it came down to cooking, whether it be Filipino or American cuisine, her dishes were loved by all.
In addition to her parents, Erlinda is preceded in death by her loving husband, Floyd Nickel; son, Matthew Nickel and brothers: Berto and Tero Emutan.
She is survived by her four children: Mark Nickel, Scott Nickel, Holly Nickel and Cynthia Nickel; grandchildren: Calico and Cyrus Nickel, Veya Daniel, Paige and Payton Penkal, Aramis Nickel-Pitrowski and sisters: Rosalia Hoelscher and Maryann Emutan.
