Victor was a special guy. He was able to form strong connections with all kinds of people. My story with Victor began after I had announced my resignation from ETCO as a regional training coordinator. Not finding someone suitable after the first round of recruitment, I decided to stay on until we did. It was extremely important to me that the apprentices and host companies were going to continue to be well looked after once I left.
On our second attempt, we found the perfect person. I was very happy to have Victor take over from me, he was genuine, took interest and really cared about people. He also had this wonderful dry and cheeky sense of humour. After only working with him for a week of handover, we became good friends. It has been a privilege to have known Victor. I will always fondly remember you, go well my friend.
Condolences to Cath, Alex, Kate and wider family on your loss.

I remember Victor fondly from my days as Apprenticeship Administrator (Central & Southern region) with ETCO. He was always friendly, polite and extremely kind. He took his role very seriously and cared a great deal for the wellbeing of the young ones in training with the organisation and he always did his best to see things ran smoothly in our work day. Very sad news, love and light to his family & friends -

Victor was a valuable team member who will be sadly missed by his colleagues. The short time that Victor was with us saw him contribute to the electrical and gas safety of New Zealanders. Victor was a friendly and supportive team member. The suddenness of his passing is a true tragedy for Victor's family and anyone who has worked with him.
