Jeannette Gnatek Obituary
Chapel Hill, NC - Jeannette Gnatek (Lafontaine), age 89, passed away at Hadley Point nursing rehab and care in Hadley on February 27th, 2026. She was born in Northampton, Massachusetts on May 11th, 1936 and was one of 13 children. She was the daughter of Abraham Lafontaine and Josephine Lafontaine (Carriere). She was married to John Gnatek for 69 years.
She will be missed by her daughter, Elizabeth and husband, David Morey, in Chapel Hill, NC, daughter, Jacquelyn and husband, Michael Copperwheat, in St Petersburg, FL, son, Vincent and wife, Paula Gnatek, in New Hampshire and daughter/caregiver, Melissa Gnatek and partner, Tim Banks and grandchildren, Zachery Morey and Tobias Gnatek.

I worked with Jeannette in printing for several years, better known as Mother to many. Great person and John as well. Loved her laugh and very fun to be with, at work and outside of work as well. Rest well my friend.
