Richard Fulton Obituary
May 9, 1953 - March 20, 2026
Charlotte, North Carolina - Richard Stover Fulton peacefully passed away on March 20, 2026.
Born in Charlotte and raised in Atlanta and Charlotte, Richard was the son of the late Betty Stover Fulton and James Taylor Fulton.
Richard was a devoted son who enjoyed time with his parents, walking and talking. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and graduated from Myers Park High School and Gardner Webb University. Richard enjoyed and appreciated sports throughout his life. He was a "Y" guy, enjoying exercise and talk during workouts at the Harris Y. Richard spent his career in finance, retiring from United Rentals.
Richard is survived by his sister Margaret Fulton and numerous cousins.
A celebration of life service will take place 2:00pm Monday, March 30, 2026, at Christ Episcopal Church 1412 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28207 conducted by the Rev. Elizabeth Walker. A reception will follow the service at church.
Richard will be laid to rest with a private family service at Evergreen Cemetery.
Donations in Richard's name may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, The Betty S. and James T. Fulton Corps of Cadets Scholarship c/o Virginia Tech Foundation, Inc., 902 Prices Fork Road, Suite 4500, Blacksburg, VA, 24060, or The Harris YMCA, www.ymcacharlotte.org.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
